Elements of Writing an Essay - Authority

Elements of Writing an Essay - AuthorityOne of the most important elements of writing an essay is the definition of the word 'authority.' This is where you gain the rights to your words and tell us what we can do with them.Of course, there are two types of authority - intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic means that you have to be an expert in the field. On the other hand, extrinsic authority means that you are an expert in the field but the layman cannot know the field better than you do. The writer has to make the distinction between these two kinds of authority and give it to us with respect.Of course, the first is very much true and you are not wrong if you say that these are different type of authority. However, the writer will need to make the distinction between the two because both are true. You may not like the terms, but they are necessary. It is usually said that the following are what we call the author's authority and these are what we call the writer's authority. These are what we call authoritative - the things that are the result of having done a lot of research and knowing a lot about the subject matter. The authority on this kind of things depends on the fact that it was thought out carefully and researched thoroughly. The key here is to define the difference and how one writer can think a certain way and another cannot. There is another way by which you can come up with this concept. The common consensus is that when we think about authority, the very first thing that comes to our mind is the Roman Emperor or the British Prime Minister. They are the people who hold their position due to their sheer authority. However, if you consider that when we get the idea of the same thing, then we want the same thing, the person holding the power will always be the 'authority.'The key here is that even in the second type of author, the authorship does not have to be expressed as the word 'authority' if we just look at the level of the ideas. We can say that ' authority' in this case would refer to the authority of the idea itself. In other words, it does not have to be expressed as 'authority' when it is only in the ideas that are being expressed. With the combination of the two elements, this means that a writer should concentrate more on the ideas and less on the 'authority' aspect. To put it simply, the second element of writing an essay is the 'authority' part, which is something that has to be expressed in the sentences or ideas being put together. This makes the distinction between the two true elements of writing an essay. In any case, this will help you get a clear idea about what the word 'authority' means and how you can say it in your essay.
